SGT Emily Pasillas
I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and I joined the Army National Guard to help my mother gain her U.S. citizenship while also building a better future for myself. What first inspired me to enlist was the impact a recruiter had on me—and now, I have the honor of being in that same position to influence the lives of future Soldiers.
I began my career in January 2024 as a 12B Combat Engineer. During my time in service, I deployed to Romania and served on a special duty assignment in support of Operation Allies Welcome, assisting Afghan families as they arrived in the United States. Along the way, I’ve pushed myself to grow and succeed, completing the Norwegian Ruck March, Reconnaissance School, Basic Leader Course, and Advanced Leader Course. I’ve also been recognized through multiple achievements including:
Soldier of the Month
Best Squad Competition
Battalion Soldier of the Year
NCO of the Quarter
In January 2025, I became a Recruiter for the Army National Guard. What I enjoy most about this role is being able to positively influence recruits’ lives, watching them grow into successful Soldiers, and helping them reach their full potential.
Outside of the Army, I am a certified personal trainer with a background in bioscience and nutrition. I have a passion for lifting, fitness, and motivating others to push beyond their limits.
The Army National Guard has given me the opportunity to achieve my goals and create a brighter future—not just for myself, but for my family. I was able to obtain my mothers Citizenship through the Parole in Place program by joining the Army National Guard. I look forward to guiding you on your own journey and helping you succeed in your military career.
