1SG Michael Vertucci

After witnessing the tragic events of September 11, 2001, I felt called to serve my country in a greater capacity. I made the decision to leave Indiana State University and enlist in the Active-Duty Army, beginning what would become a 22-year military career dedicated to service and leadership.

I started my journey as an Infantryman while stationed in Germany, and I’ve since deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the years, I’ve proudly served in multiple assignments that strengthened my leadership, discipline, and commitment to the Army’s mission. I now serve as a 79T – Recruiting and Retention NCO and hold the rank of First Sergeant.

Recruiting Career

I began my recruiting career in 2012, where I found my true passion — helping others realize their potential.

I enjoy showing people what they can accomplish and helping them develop the belief in themselves that military service instills. Being around motivated individuals who want to serve and improve themselves inspires me every single day.

The most rewarding part of my job is witnessing transformation — seeing people discover their purpose and grow into the best version of themselves through service in the National Guard.

Civilian Life & Education

I hold a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership (MSSL) and continue to apply those principles in both my military and personal life.

Outside of the Guard, I’m a husband and father of three, and my family keeps me busy — whether we’re at the ball field or spending quality time together. I also make time to work out daily, maintaining the same discipline and drive I encourage in others.

Allow us to show you what you can achieve. The Army National Guard provides endless opportunities that can lead to a future full of purpose, stability, and personal growth.

Let us guide you on that path and help you unlock your potential — because in the Guard, your possibilities are limitless. 🇺🇸
